In this post, I’ve compiled 10 of the best business blogs that cover topics related to online business, entrepreneurship, marketing, or anything that an entrepreneur would need in order to succeed in online business.
I find myself frequently visiting these websites from social media posts, Google searches, or email notifications. They all give massive value and in many ways have helped me build my own online business to where it is today!
Let me know in the comments if I left anyone off this list or share with us some of your favorite business blogs!
1. Making Sense of Cents
I don’t consider Michelle’s blog a true business blog as far as content that strictly relates to entrepreneurship… However, she does share A LOT of good advice as it relates to building an online income.
One of her top-selling courses is “Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing” which teaches you in depth how to get started with an affiliate marketing online business. She is beloved among the female blogging community and viewed as a blogging legend or “the goal” that many people hope to achieve financially with their blog!
She consistently makes over $100,000 per month strictly from her blog. She really doesn’t use other platforms like YouTube or Podcasting to build her brand like some other people on this list do.
I would consider Michelle’s blog the gold standard of finance blogging. It’s a true entrepreneurial website in every “sense” of the word.
It may not be the most technical financial content, but that’s the beauty of it! She’s been consistently publishing for over 8 years now and has built her online business the right way.
2. Smart Passive Income
Patt Flynn’s Smart Passive Income blog was one of the first small business blogs I discovered when I was learning how to start my own blog. He also happens to be one of the first podcasts I ever started listening to (and still listen to today).
Patt has mastered the art of podcasting, but he also shares a lot of valuable business tips and strategies on his blog. You can find all of his podcast episodes on his blog with the associated “show notes” for each episode.
He also creates original content on his blog that you won’t find anywhere else. Like the name suggests, Patt focuses on helping people build a “smart passive income” in a variety of ways. He frequently interviews other successful entrepreneurs and asks great questions related to actual tactics that we can implement to build our own businesses.
I highly recommend subscribing to his podcast.
3. Gary Vaynerchuk
I could not leave Gary off this list. Mindset is honestly one of the most important characteristics of a successful entrepreneur. He is definitely one of my favorite entrepreneur blogs. He’s a top 10 entrepreneur in my book.
Gary has single-handedly impacted my personal business mindset more than any other person on earth.
It’s safe to say if I didn’t listen to, watch, and read Gary’s content (including his books) on a regular basis, I would not still be working on my online business today! I probably would’ve given up a LONG time ago. I’m so glad I didn’t.
I’m in such a good state of mind with my business because of Gary’s content. Patience and consistency are key to building a successful long term business and Gary preaches that daily.
If you need to get control of your mindset, you need some hard lovin Gary in your life.
Derek Halpern was my main “YouTube” coach when I first started putting out videos. I thought he looked so energetic yet natural on camera and I found myself binge-watching a lot of his content back in early 2017.
To be honest I gained more value from the indirect lessons he taught through his example than through the actual content (which is also good).
He’s a good example of a young guy who is building a successful online business in a competitive niche.
He’s a master at webinars too. If you ever want someone to look to as a good example of how to do a good webinar.
5. Neil Patel
Neil Patel is well known in the SEO world. He has gained millions of views across his blogs and channels and has built multiple million dollar online businesses.
He’s a genius when it comes to SEO and blogging, but he also shares a lot of good marketing tips and strategies! I’d put him up there as one of the top business bloggers of our time.
Not to mention he also has some nice free tools to help you with your online business like UberSuggest.
He’s also got a podcast with a ton of short episodes about marketing online.
There’s a good chance if you’re googling something related to SEO, keywords, or marketing you’re going to see one of his blog articles show up in the search results.
DevDude provides some of the best tactical SEO strategies I’ve seen to date. There are multiple great SEO blogs listed in this post, but Brian goes into detail like many of them don’t.
You’ll frequently find really long 10,000+ word posts on his blog… But that’s because they are JAM-PACKED with real actionable strategies that you can implement in your own website.
He teaches some of the best techniques I’ve seen to build backlinks to your site. He was one of the first proponents of the “Skyscraper Technique” which you may have heard of. If not you can grab a really great guide from his website about it.
His blog is extremely clean cut and easy to navigate. If you’re a blogger or are looking to improve your SEO, Dev Dude is a must have blog in your bookmarks and probably one of the best entrepreneur websites overall I’ve seen.
7. The MOZ Blog
MOZ is the tool I use to measure domain authority on my own website and other websites that I’m researching.
They have a tool called MOZ Pro that has some nice features for keyword research, backlink analysis, and SEO improvement. That’s a paid tool.
Their blog has a lot of really good free SEO advice. Their articles may not all go as in-depth as a blog from Backlinko or Neil Patel would, but the benefit with the MOZ blog is there are A LOT of articles…
Instead of one person creating all or most of the content, they frequently have blog posts from “The MOZ team” or from outside contributors. They are always pumping out new content and ideas and focus on the latest new findings in SEO.
If you don’t like their blog, their free MOZ bar chrome extension is worth a website visit.
8. Copy Blogger
We’ve covered a few “must know” SEO blogs. This next blog is all about copywriting to improve marketing and sales.
SEO is clearly important for every website, but so is the actual writing. Especially if you’re writing to persuade or lead people to an action or purchase.
Copywriting is the act of writing text for marketing or advertising purposes.
If you suck at copywriting, you’re going to have a hard time getting your website visitors to take action.
The blog articles on Copyblogger.com are all about how to write to build your business. There are a bunch of really awesome ideas and insights from successful bloggers and copywriters that have been very useful to me.
The Copy Blogger blog is definitely worth adding to your blogging toolbox!
Every time I’m doing research on a social media marketing strategy I always find myself stumbling onto Social Media Examiner in the search results! Their logo with the little man and the magnifying glass is hard to forget so you know when you’re on their site.
The Social Media Examiner blog covers almost everything related to social media marketing you could think of.
I really love how they’ve organized their blog categories so it’s easy to browse through some of their offerings:
- How to
- Starter Guides
- Expert Interviews
- Weekly News
Simple, yet effective. Like I said they cover almost anything you can imagine related to social media and how it relates to you and your business. Definitely worth coming back to!
Every entrepreneur has at some point read the Entrepreneur.com blog.
Their blog isn’t as concentrated with actionable tips and strategies you can use to build your business, but there is a lot of opinion and news about the world of entrepreneurship in general on their site.
They are a massive media company at this stage and operate as such.
They pump out multiple articles a day covering some of the biggest news in the world of entrepreneurship. It can seem overwhelming, but if you’re looking for some real-time news and information about entrepreneurship, they’ve got a lot of catchy headlines.
You’ll also find other interesting lists, stats, and numbers right on their homepage about the stock market, business rankings, and forecasts.
If you want to know the latest trends to talk to your friends about, you’ll find it on their site.
That completes my list of 10 Business Blogs you should bookmark in your web browser! If I left any off the list, please leave a comment so we can find some more amazing blogs to help us build our businesses.
